What makes a Project NOW What?
It’s up to you to define what “NOW What?” means to you and your community. Each Project NOW What? reflects the unique ideas, voices, and experiences of the organizers, the presenters, the participants, and the community. However, all projects share a few common values:
- creativity and innovation
- holistic, interdisciplinary: social, environmental, and economic sustainability
- an interest in grassroots youth engagement and empowerment; youth-led, for youth
- low budget, high impact
- remains proudly independent of corporate/religious/political interests and the like
- empowers the participants and organizers alike with kick-ass learning experiences
Who can run Project NOW What?
Pretty much anyone: individuals, groups and established organizations/institutions passionate about arts, education, innovation, youth empowerment, and sustainability
How to organize a Project NOW What?

- Who: tell us a bit about you. Also, who are running this project with you? For whom are you running this project?
- Why are you organizing this project? What’s your team’s dream(s), mission(s), and vision(s)?
- What is the project?
- When will the project happen? For how long? Is it a one-time, short-term, long-term, periodic, etc.?
- Where will the project be located?
- How will you put together the project as your team envisions? E.g. what resources (people, organizations, materials, funding) will you require?
Next steps:
Welcome aboard to the NOW! Team! We will support you and your planning team in every step of the process (esp. in terms of project start-up, finding mentors/advisors, and leveraging the support of the community, partners, sponsors, and beyond). However, your team will have the latitude to run wild and do whatever you think need to be done to make a difference in sustainability. We look forward to working with you, sharing with you, and learning from you! This will be an amazing adventure.
